Description: - (Vol. 1) ff. i + 117 + i ; (Vol. 2) ff. i + 148 + i - Volume 1, ca. 1904. Vellum case, gold-tooled. Volume 2, 1961. Orange goatskin gold-tooled, bound by Sidney Cockerell. - Vol. 1: The Gospel of Matthew was purchased by Professor Thomas Day Seymour in 1903. Professor Seymour then purchased the Gospel of Mark from a second unidentified source. The two portions were bound together by him in modern vellum, ca. 1904. The volume passed to his daughter, Mrs. George C. St. John in 1914 and was then presented to Yale by Mrs. St. John and her family in 1947. Vol. 2: Purchased by H. P. Kraus in 1960 from Sotheby's. Bought by Yale in 1967 with the Beinecke Rare Book Endowment Fund. - Shailor, B. Catalogue of Medieval and Renaissance Manuscripts in the Beinecke Rare Book and Manuscript Library, MS 150.

Description: - f. 1 - This collection of English binding fragments was given to NYU by Homer Lewis Bartlett (1858-1940), who graduated in 1884 from NYU with a degree in Science and Civil Engineering; he married Clarice Sherman Noble in 1892; they had five children; by 1902, he was second vice-president of the Eastern District Savings Bank. De Ricci states that the collection (of 101 fragments with 70 others laid into the album) was given to NYU in 1884 (the same year in which Homer L. Bartlett graduated). - De Ricci, p. 1346.
